Just wondering if anyone could help me. I'm using dvd fab HD decrypter 5.2.2.2 and dvd shrink . The problem I'm having is I can rip and burn the dvd movie but it wont play on my dvd player? Does anyone know why this is ?

You said you were surprised about people using it? Ive been trying to find a more updated guide for this procedure, to no avail.

My guess would be that whatever he/she is useing to re-encode, is flipping the fields. Check the options for that program.

By chance is there any programs that do this this faster or does the speed depend on the pv and writers.... MKV to DVD -- audio loses sync - run the file through mediainfo to see what the specs of the mkv are. My guess is that it is variable framerate. Anyone know why this is happening? With x264/h264 its fine, but these formats, while in sync and watchable, stutter from time to time and drop frames, and its not completely smooth. Im using Kmplay ... Avidemux profile for QuickTime - By default, Avidemux makes an mp4 with an AVC level 5. That's too high for quicktime to handle. Quicktime prefers level 3.0 or so. Probably the easiest way to create a compliant quicktime mp4 with Avidemux, is to use the PSP template, then edit the resolution and settings.

Ffmpegx will not operate on a DVD directly, even if it's unencrypted.
Is your goal to create a duplicate DVD, or is it to convert to DivX? If the latter, then I recommend using D-Vision , which will operate directly from a DVD.
